On February 28, 2023, we hosted our annual Advocacy Day at the Texas Capitol. We were joined by over 500 advocates calling for common sense gun reform in Texas. We heard from a diverse group of speakers – survivors, legislators, gun owners, veterans, and gun violence prevention organizations – who reignited the call for policy change that would save lives. We know that a majority of Texans support red flag laws, background checks on all gun sales, and raising the age of purchase to 21 for semi-automatic rifles. Texans have to keep fighting until survivors are honored and these laws are passed.
